Welcome to my world of party planning, designing social events, playing part on some fabulous teams creating events all the town is talking about. This site was created to maximize the exposure for a product that I have been marketing for over twenty years in the special events industry,"Martin Alvarez". My passion started at a little flowers shop in my San Antonio, Texas neighborhood. After attending the Texas School of Floral Design, I was certain that this was the path I would take.. In my early years, I had the opportunity to work with some of San Antonio's legends such as Bernie De La Vega, Allens Flowers & Gifts, Catering By Rosemary and many others who always offered an encouraging hand. I had the great privilege to work under one of San Antonio's leading caterers which presented a career altering opportunity to work with Marsha Levine, a Tampa Florida caterer. Within a few days my career goals included moving to the east coast to be part of a new team in a new location with similar weather. Love the beach!! |

| More than twenty years have gone by and I have had the great pleasure to be called upon to strut my stuff for events from coast to coast. Hollywood, Phoenix, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Austin, Laredo, Galveston, Orlando, and not too many weekends go by before you see me running downtown into a San Antonio hotel. From my involvement with ISES(International Special Events Society), nationally, regionally and on the local level I have built some great partnerships with other event professionals to pull off the "Best Event Ever", that is... only until the next. Calls have come in from The Prop Room, Don Strange of Texas, PRA Destination, Rex Stone & Associates, Alamodome, Institute of Texan Cultures and many others. I never know what the request will be, is it creative centerpiece for a luncheon, overall design for a wedding reception being filmed for a national television show or orchestrating full production of a non-profit gala. What ever the request I always bring the same passion, work ethic and that thrive for a deadline atmosphere. I am currently on as Board of Director for ISES San Antonio, previous positions include VP of Membership and VP of Programs. Spring of 2005 I was honored to be appointed Co-Chair to the first ISES Southeast Regional Education Conference hosted by our city and executed by our local members. Regularly, you will see me at a local industry event, NACE(National Association of Catering Executives), MPI(Meeting Planners International), AAHA(Alamo Area HospitalityAssociation), APFA(Alamo Professional Florist Association) and sitting on many committees helping reach financial goals for different non-profit and civic organizations. I have lent my talents to organizations including American Heart Association, We Are Alive, Houston Grand Opera, San Antonio Symphony, Tampa Museum of Art, Any Baby Can and many others. Accolades have come in many forms. Nominated "Best of San Antonio" by ISES Houston, Nominated "Best Floral Design" ISES Dallas, Awarded "Outstanding Member" ISES San Antonio, "Designer of the Year" Alamo Professional Florist Association, eight time "Best of Show" Bridal Extravaganza, two time "Top Five Designer" Texas State Florist Association, & Gold and Silver Medalist West Coast of Florida Florist Association. My work has been featured in local wedding magazines and national trade publications. The biggest rewards come in the form of a note from clients who continue to call and challenge me time and time again. The instant recognition comes from referrals from caterers, venues and other event professionals. Sources like Westin Riverwalk Hotel, Sheraton Gunter Hotel, Marriott Riverwalk and Rivercenter, Absolutely Delicious Catering, Lisa Brooks Catering, Platinum Caters, Once Upon A Time Photography, Rio Cibolo Ranch, GSI Entertainment, French Connection, 5150 Productions, Witte Museum, Sweet Designs Bake Shoppe and many others keep the buzz alive. Over the years education has played a major part of my career(Thank you mom and dad for providing the funds for my first classes). Over the last couple of years I have set aside time to dedicate to speaking engagements to industry leaders, educational seminars and hands on classes. Please visit my "Party Line" page for information on upcoming dates. Now that you know who I am, drop me a note and tell me how I can be of service to you. My clients range from corporate to event professional to non-profit to social so, I am certain that you fall into one of these categories. |
