Things are rolling fast around here. We made it through a successful Valentine's Day. I want to thank everyone for coming buy and purchasing our floral creations. A big GRACIAS to my brothers and sisters for getting the word out to their families and friends. We were excited to donate our left over roses to the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center for their 22nd annual Oldies Party. I did get a call from Programs Director Belinda Menchaca who said that the event was a huge success.

Speaking of the Guadalupe, they will be showcasing their dance company in Alma de Mujer. The performances take place on the weekends in March. Ticket prices are very reasonable.

Well, it is time for all the event professionals in the southeast to come together for our annual ISES Southeast Regional Conference. This is the event that I chaired and brought to San Antonio a few years ago. This year it is being hosted by the member of ISES Austin. There is a great line up of speakers and social events. From what I hear the conference will show that Austin really is the Music Capital.

So, for all of you starting out in the special events industry this is a conference to attend. I look forward to seeing everyone.

Another upcoming event that I am really excited about is the Luminaria event. The downtown event will showcase all of the talent in various media of art that our city has to offer. There will be live performances on various stages from Hemisfair to Alamo Plaza. The stage entertainment line up is being headed up by George Cisneros so, you know it will be exciting and energetic.

Keep your eye out for our new oversized Loteria Cards. They are fabulous and will be part of the March 15,2008 event.

The schedule for the flower arranging classes is out so register now. The classes start on March 12, 2008. You can read all the details about the classes on our "On Tap" page.

Well, it's almost FIESTA time around here. Come take advantage of our 20% OFF our FIESTA theme invitations.. We are featuring originals by our very own Jose Villarreal Jr. and Nancy Dee Harkins. Come see all the things we have for your FIESTA parties.

Speaking of FIESTA, Award Nominated Liza Ybarra has signed on to be our live entertainment for April 25th & 26th. Liza stared in the musical Selena where she played Selenas sister. We are so excited about our FIESTA event. More details will follow. The parades will never be the same.

Mark your calendars for the two parades that will be happening right outside our doors. April 25th, the Battle of Flowers and April 26th will be the 60th Fiesta Flambeau Parade. We are looking forward to all that we are adding to these parades.

We are happy to announce that our new showroom is NOW OPEN!! Located at 401 Pearl Parkway San Antonio, Texas 78215. As you travel down Broadway look for the large Pearl Brewery sign with the arrow. Turn there and we are the first entrance on the right hand side. Unlike anything in San Antonio we are located in a 12,000 square foot warehouse. How New York City can we be.

As you enter you are greeted by invitations from several high profile weddings around town that we have played a part in. Our conference room invites you to view a large line of Groomsmen gifts while you select colors, fabrics and so many ideas that you won't know where to start.

In our Media Room, Michael Ray Vandervort and Nancy "Dee" Harkins will design your invitations, Save the Date, place cards, thank you notes and stationary. We are so excited about Dee being part of our team here. Many of you know Nancy Harkins Stationary from the many years of service in Alamo Heights. We have her entire line that she was famous for.

As you enter our Wedding Room, you will see many different ideas for pew flowers and decorations. Our large variety of chairs are on displayed so that you can see first hand what is available to you for rent. This room houses our extensive line of guest books, photo albums, bridal veils, tiaras, candles and many other accesories. We have a large selection of bridal shower invitations, house warming invitations and great books for all of your bridal information.

Our Dressing Room provides all the different linens, chair covers, napkins, china, flatware that we offer. We also have on display a great selection of napkin rings and other floral ideas to dress up your table.

My personal favorite room I call the "I can't contain myself" room. Here you will be able to select the containers for your centerpieces and buffet tables. Everything from the Italian glass towers you are seeing in all of the magazine, to the famous silver candelabras. We offer a great selection of clear glass in all the different shapes that are hot right now.

As you turn down the hall you will enter the Floral Room. Here we house great gift ideas for many different occassions including baby showers, new births, 4th of July, summer parties and much more. This is where all of the fresh flowers are created. We have a great line of cards and gifts for you to pick up and take with you. For the first time in 10 years our floral product is available to be delivered to hospitals, funeral homes or your friend down the street. After much request we have decided to make our floral department a Full Service Floral. We are happy to take your order and deliver one of our floral creations anywhere in and around San Antonio. By the way we will introduce San Antonio to our Floral Drive thru on February 13th, just in time for that big day. Don't forget to order your flowers for your sweetheart.

You will walk through the floral department and enter our warehouse. Here you will see large columns, urns, four foot playing cards, loteria cards, the missions, large lighted flowers and many things we are still creating. There will not be an Alamo in our warehouse. We are designing and building the missions that San Antonio is known for.

At Martin Alvarez & Co. you have all that you need for your special event all under one roof.

You asked for it San Antonio, so I am providing it.

Come visit us. Our hours of operations are Monday thru Saturday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm. Evening and weekend consultations are available.

I do have to thank Bob Lowman at Wedding Guide for the stage time this past weekend at the Bridal Extravaganza.. We did receive the third place prize for our booth decorations.

Please come back and read what is going on with our new space. We have started planning for Fiesta Week. It will be awesome.
